Learn the Technique of Urdhva Mukha Paschimottanasana II to Deal with Premenstrual Syndrome

Premenstrual Syndrome is a mild form of cyclical appearance of symptoms like anxiety, fatigue, sleepless nights and depression which appear in most women.

For a women to be diagnosed as suffering from PMS, the symptoms should be seen only during the luteal phase (one or two weeks before the menstrual cycle begins), with a cyclical monthly recurrence.

The symptoms of PMS can be as varied as irritability, anxiety, mood changes, fatigue, body aches, crying spells, breast tenderness, generalized edema and mood swings among other things.

Yoga fine tunes the endocrine organs of the body to reach a state of balance or normalcy. There are several asanas that have their specific effect on these endocrine glands.

Stop doing all backward bending asanas one week before the expected date of periods. Practice kapalabhati in viparithakarani and baddhakonasana in the last week of the menstrual cycle.

Repeated practice of nadisuddhi and seetkari have been found to be effective in preventing the symptoms of PMS.
